Super Bowlについてお話してくれました💡

Super Bowl LV concluded on February 7th with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beating the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 31 to 9. The MVP of the game was, of course, Tom Brady. This was the fifth Super Bowl MVP for Brady, a new record. The 43 year old Brady captured his 7th Super Bowl ring, his first in Tampa Bay, in style. Brady had many doubters coming into this season, but he proved them all wrong in this game. The quarterback ended the game with three touchdown passes and over 200 passing yards. At 43 years old, Brady became the oldest ever Super Bowl MVP and promised to continue his winning ways in the 2021-2022 season. Is Tom Brady the greatest football player of all time? This win confirms it in my opinion. Tom Brady is the best to ever do it.

My hometown, Blackpool.

I am from Blackpool, Lancashire, in England. I spent 22 or 23 years there. I love the place, and I love the people.
There are donkeys on the beach. There is a tower by the sea. It looks like a smaller version of the Eiffel Tower. There is a fun amusement park called The Pleasure Beach. There is also a zoo and there are lots of fish and chip shops.
Blackpool has probably changed a lot since I came to Japan 5 years ago. My friend recently sent me photos of some stores that had permanently closed down. There seem to be a lot of empty shops on the high street nowadays.
Whenever I meet students who have heard of Blackpool, it is usually because of the international ballroom dance competition held there every year.
We also have a successful football team who won the FA Cup in 1953. They wear tangerine coloured shirts. They played in the Premier League during the 2010/2011 season. My father took me to my first game at Bloomfield Road when I was very young, I think we beat Rotherham 3-1.
Many stag and hen parties are attracted to Blackpool. A stag party is known as a bachelor party in the USA, and a hen party is known as a bachelorette party. You can see them at night every weekend drinking a lot of alcohol, dancing in nightclubs and sometimes fighting in the streets.
It is a great place. I would love to return to Blackpool to live there again in the future, but for now I am happy living here in Japan.

The Divine Comedy

I recently started reading a book that has really made me think about my life, my actions, my behaviour, attitudes and beliefs.

It is called The Divine Comedy. It was written by Dante. It is a very long poem.

It’s a metaphor for the soul’s journey to salvation. A soul must acknowledge sin, repent, and then come to know God.

That is what I hope and plan to do now.

There are three parts to this book; Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. I think you know what Hell and Paradise mean. However, Purgatory is a more difficult and unfamiliar word to most people. To be honest, I don’t know what it means. But I look forward to learning.

I don’t know if there is a Japanese translation on the market, but if there is I highly recommend you check it out.

我是周方旭。
大家休息的时候喜欢做什么呢？
我平时休息的时候喜欢做很多有意思的事情。
我休息的时候喜欢弹钢琴。最近一直在练习韩国作曲家李闰珉的《你的心河》。
这首曲子我觉得非常难，所以我休息的时候经常在家练习。
除了练习这首曲子，我还会弹很多中国和外国的曲子。
我很喜欢弹钢琴，我觉得弹钢琴可以让我很放松，内心也会变得很平静。

私は休みの時にたくさんの面白い事をしています。
休みの時に、私はピアノを弾くことが好きです。最近は韓国作曲家、イルマの　＜リバー．フローズ、イン、ユー＞を練習しています。
この曲は私にとっては難しいので、よく練習しています。
この曲以外では、私は外国と中国の曲も弾けます。
ピアノを弾くことが大好きで、ピアノを弾くことで私はリラックスし、心も落ち着きます。

Hello,
My name is Jake and I’m from Australia. I’ve been in Japan and working at Nova for just over one year now and have been enjoying my time greatly. (Even with this ongoing pandemic.)
The best experience I had from my first year in Japan was my recent trip to Onomichi. I chose to visit Onomichi because I love watching movies and it is the hometown of my favourite Japanese filmmaker Obayashi Nobuhiko, who made many of his movies there. I had an enjoyable time walking around the city seeing where some of my favourite movies were filmed. It was interesting seeing both the similarities and differences in the locations between now and when the movies were made.
While I was there I also rented a bicycle and rode along part of the Shimanami Kaido and around the islands in the area. It was the first time I had ridden a bicycle in almost 20 years so I found it very difficult, but it was a great day with beautiful scenery so it was well worth it.
I hope my second year in Japan will be as good as my first. I look forward to seeing all the wonderful students again as well as meeting many new ones.

Hello! What did you do this weekend?
I like to spend my weekends at home watching Netflix and reading books. Recently I have been watching a lot of Japanese and Korean movies. I watched the Korean movie, Parasite, the other day and it was amazing. It really made me think about life after I finished watching it. I highly recommend it. I also watched the Japanese movie, Manbiki no Kazoku. This movie was so emotional and heart wrenching. I also highly recommend this movie too.

Hello everyone my name is David. As a young child I grew up on the soft sandy beaches of Key West, Florida. Then my life flipped upside down when my dad retired and moved us up into the cold mountain ranges of Montana. Montana is a state of winter sports and activities. Neither of which I enjoy. I stayed in Montana for university where I majored in both mechanical engineering and archeology. Archeology afforded me the opportunity to travel around the world and my latest adventure brought me here to Japan, which is my first Asian country.In the future I hope to take my experience here teaching to a career teaching archeology at a university level. My days off are normally spent by trying new food at resturants and studying Japanese.I have alot of trips planned to explore and learn more about Japans history and culture in the years i will spend here.

大家好！我是你们的新老师，我叫周方旭。
我的家乡在大连，那里是一座美丽的海滨城市。最近，我喜欢上了做菜，我最喜欢做的菜是韩国菜。因为我非常喜欢吃辣的东西。
休息的时候，我会经常去新大久保买韩国食材，比如韩国辣白菜等。我在网上和韩国人一起学习如何做正宗的韩国菜，比如韩国拌饭，泡菜汤，韩国泡菜饼等。但是紫菜包饭对我来说非常难，我还没有学会。

皆さん、こんにちは！皆さんの新しい中国語先生、周方旭です。
私の故郷は大連で綺麗な港都市です。最近、料理を作ることに夢中になって、一番好きなのは韓国料理です。なぜならば、私は辛いものが大好きです。
休みの時は、よく新大久保に行って、韓国の食材を買います。例えば、韓国キムチです。
私はインターネットで韓国人と一緒に韓国料理を勉強して、今はピビンバ、チゲ、チヂミを作れます。しかし、キムパまだ作れないです。
