I would like to tell you a little bit about my hometown. I am originally from West Palm Beach in Florida, but went to college in Miami and spent a lot of time there, so I like to say that I am from there as well. In Miami, there is a huge blend of Hispanic and Latino cultures. Many people who live in Miami move from Latin American countries, with the most popular being Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Dominican Republic, and Colombia. Because of this, I speak a good amount of Spanish! Japanese food is my favorite cuisine of all time, but Cuban food is definitely a close second. My favorite is called Ropa Vieja, which is a stew made from flank steak and a blend of spices in a tomato sauce, served with rice and black beans. Miami also has absolutely gorgeous beaches that people come from all over the world to see. There is always some kind of festival or event going on, so there is always something to do. With that being said, the traffic there is absolutely terrible. Because Miami is so big, everybody drives everywhere- but with a population of nearly 3 million, it takes forever to get anywhere! That is one thing that I really love about Japan. Living in Tokyo, there is no need to have a car because you can take the trains anywhere you need to go! There are definitely upsides and downsides to living in Miami, but I still love it so much. Would you ever want to visit Miami?
