On Amazon Prime there is a great movie called “Dead Poets Society”.
The movie centers on a group of boys at an elite boarding school and their relationship with their new English teacher. The new teacher is a very animated, unique man who teaches the boys to break free from their traditional ways of thinking and the way they have been taught their whole lives.
The phrase the teacher repeats is “Seize the days”, which means to treat each day as a fresh experience in which to learn or try something new ; to make the most of every moment. It is a beautiful expression that really affects the students’ lives and helps them bond. I think it is also an important one to apply to one’s own life; seeing the beauty of each day, each moment.
