Since the weather is changing, and the rainy season will be starting soon, here are some phrases we use commonly in the UK to talk about the weather.

================== Blowing a gale ==================

A gale is very strong wind, so we use this expression to emphasise that the wind is very powerful.
In the UK, it can sometimes be difficult to hold an umbrella in the rain,
as rain is often accompanied by strong wind.
‘There’s no point taking your umbrella. It’s blowing a gale out there.’

======================= Baltic =======================

This word is used especially in the north of the UK to mean ‘very cold’ and is similar to saying the weather is ‘freezing’.
The word ‘Baltic’ comes from the name of the Baltic Sea, in Northern Europe, which is known to be particularly cold.
‘You’ll need a coat. It’s absolutely Baltic today.’

====================== Boiling ======================

You may know the verb ‘boil’ as a cooking term. As it sounds, we use the word ‘boiling’ to exaggerate when talking about hot weather. In some places, people use ‘roasting’ in the same way. Both words can be used to refer either to the weather or to how a person feels.
‘We must be having a heatwave. It’s boiling outside.’
‘Can we stop and get something to drink? I’m boiling.’
