My name is Andy and I’m from Ohio state in America.😎✨
I have been living in Kansai since June 2014.
I have lived in Kobe for 5 years and Osaka for 3 years. My first time in Japan was in 2008, when I lived in Tottori prefecture for almost two years.
Ohio has lots of countryside.
I grew up on what used to be a farm, covering 25 acres, or 0.1 square kilometers. We can go hiking, sledding, and pick berries all on our own land.
The nearest town, where I went to school, is called Gallipolis, which means “French City”. It is built along the Ohio river, one of America’s biggest rivers, which goes from Canada all the way to the Mississippi. The river is used for shipping and transportation of coal in long boats called barges.
Ohio is famous for being the birthplace of many astronauts and aviators. The Wright brothers, who made the first airplane, are from Ohio. John Glenn, the first American to orbit the earth, is also from Ohio. Our state slogan is “First in Flight”!
Ohio isn’t near the ocean, so we don’t have a lot of seafood like Japan. Examples of our food include fried catfish (namazu in Japanese), baked potato soup, and cheese coneys, which are a kind of hotdog.
