Hi everyone!
I thought I would write about Halloween in America for this blog post today.
Halloween is coming soon and it’s a very popular holiday where I’m from.
While the real holiday is on October 31, the holiday has become popular enough that it is celebrated all month with decorations often coming out on October 1!
Kids enjoy some costume parties at school with candy and games, and of course trick or treating on the big night.
But as I grew up, so did the holiday, with college students having costume parties in university dorms, and even adults having Halloween-themed house parties.
It’s become a holiday with something for everyone.
On television there are Halloween-themed marathons, ranging from cute, family-friendly TV specials for kids with Snoopy, to scary movies that those kids can’t watch.
I went a few years ago to the Shibuya Halloween Parade, where the streets were packed with elaborate costumes, and everyone looked like they were having a good time.
It’s fun to see these changes, but I still prefer the Halloweens spent with a few friends, going door to door as kids, at a friend’s party when I was quite a bit older.
However you choose to celebrate Halloween, I hope you enjoy it, and have a Happy Halloween.
