突然ですが、英語を学習していると、
様々な海外の文化に触れることが
よくありますよね❓❓
今回は、若松イオン校に所属している
South Africa出身のJacquesから
南アフリカの文化について聞いてみました👂
Hello everyone,
Part of the fun of learning another language is that you get to learn a lot about different cultures as well. So today I’d like to share a bit about South African culture.
South Africa is very well known for its history as an important trading hub for European traders on their way to and from Japan, and other parts of Asia, until the late 1850s. Because of this historical importance, South Africa has experienced a lot of immigration from many parts of the world and is now known as the “Rainbow Nation” due to its diverse mix of cultures.
There are 11 officially recognised languages spoken in South Africa, including Xhosa, Zulu and Afrikaans. Luckily; however, English is widely spoken as a 1st or 2nd language, which makes it easier for anyone planning on traveling to South Africa and experiencing its melting pot of cultures first hand.
