あっという間に梅雨の季節・・・☔
雨の日は屋内でゲーム♪という方も多いかと思います📺🎮
本日はTop50講師のAlex先生が教えてくれた、
アメリカのゲームセンターについてご紹介いたします✨
“Game Centers” in America
So one thing that got me interested in Japan were game centers,
which are called “arcades” in the States.
They were always so interesting because each center had
had their own little community of people
that were interested in different things.
The people that like crane/UFO catchers, in one area.
The fighting game people on the other side.
Each area even had their own atmosphere, too.
So you could have fun just standing around and watching.
I loved standing close by and
enjoying the energy and passion of people around me.
Currently, there are very few left in America.
Most went bankrupt or people just moved on.
Interestingly, they’re still alive and running in Japan,
so it’s like watching a part of living history to me.
It’s fun to see culture that didn’t survive in my country,
do well in Japan.
ゲームセンターで音楽ゲームなどの周りに
観客が集まるのも日本ではよくある光景ですね👀
