This lesson uses how and why questions in simple ways beyond the basic
“how much is it?” or “why did you do that?”
This is a popular lesson with everyone!
It’s relaxing and always gets students sharing interesting background information and facts.
They talk about everyday life and the language is something you can imagine using right away.
Topics are endless and everyone can contribute a bit of their own knowledge and experience.
Confident students can think of ways to expand the discussion.
Try asking “Where did you learn that? / read that?”
Students might enjoy looking up information and sharing it on the spot.
Single student classes can look at online resources and practice how to quickly scan webpages or blogs.
“Why don’t you check…?” is helpful for recommendations.
The word bank contains short, natural phrases that can be used as responses for other questions,
such as “What did you see in London?” “Everything!”
