Schools
In England, education consists of primary school (ages 5-11); secondary school (ages 12-16); and then you choose to go to sixth form (ages 16-18) or a vocational college- where you study to go to University. In America, you have different schools whose programs include either elementary school (ages 5-11); middle school (11-14); and high school (14-18) or elementary school (ages 5-12); Junior high (ages 12-14); and high school (ages 14-18). If education level is insufficient to move up in a grade, you can get “held back” and be required to repeat a grade in America.
Transportation
England tends to use public transport more, especially the closer you are England. and cars aren`t as big of a necessity. Buses, bicycles, trains, taxis, and even walking on their own two legs are more commonly used sources of transportation. In America, the geographical distance is large, requiring most of Americans to own cars as their main method of transport. It is difficult to walk or use public transport. Driving age in England is 17 while in America, ages vary by state from 15 (in rural areas like Wyoming) to 17.
Sports
In England, popular sports include: football, rugby, and cricket. In America, popular sports include basketball, baseball, and American football. In England, unusual sports include Formula One (F1-car racing using specialized cars) as well as Racing Cheese (a game where you roll cheese down a hill and whoever is the first to catch one wins). In America, unusual sports include Lacrosse and Demolition Derbies (running your old car into other old cars and the last car whose engine still runs wins).
