「Learn English with Sports!10月イベントレッスンのお知らせ（中学生以上対象）」
今月のイベントレッスンのテーマは 「Learn English with Sports!」。スポーツを通して、普段のレッスンでは味わえないような楽しさを満喫しながら英会話を学べる絶好の機会です！
このイベントは 中学生以上 の皆さんを対象にしています。スポーツが好きな方も、英会話をもっと楽しみたい方も大歓迎！ゲームやアクティビティを通じて、英語でのコミュニケーションが自然に身につくので、普段のレッスンでは得られない体験ができますよ(^▽^)/

When October arrives in America, the air changes. Leaves fall, pumpkins appear on doorsteps, and children begin to dream about costumes. Halloween is more than a holiday; it is a cultural phenomenon (event) that brings neighborhoods alive with imagination (creativity), fear, and laughter.
The story of Halloween began long ago with the Celts, who celebrated Samhain, a festival marking the end of the harvest season. They believed that on October 31, the barrier (wall) between the living and the dead became thin. Spirits could wander among people. To protect themselves, villagers wore costumes and lit great fires. Centuries later, Irish immigrants brought these beliefs to America, where they evolved (changed) into the joyful, candy-filled Halloween we know today.
In every American town, Halloween night feels electric (exciting). Children dressed as witches, superheroes, and ghosts rush from house to house shouting, “Trick or treat!” The phrase is both playful and symbolic (meaningful): if you don’t offer candy, they might play a harmless (safe) prank. The exchange builds a sense of community (togetherness), even between strangers (unknown people).
Meanwhile, adults enjoy their own celebrations. For Japanese learners of English, Halloween offers a fun way to study language and culture together. You can watch American Halloween movies in English, host small English only costume parties, or write about your own experience using new words like “pumpkin,” “witch,” or “costume.” Each activity helps you connect vocabulary with real emotions (feelings) and memories.
Halloween reminds us that language is more than grammar or vocabulary lists. It is a living experience, a chance to explore (learn about) another culture through action. 안녕하세요!
저는 한국어 강사 방효식이라고합니다.
제가 지금까지 레슨 하면서 여러 학생분들과 이야기를 했었을 때 저에게
“왜 일본어 공부를 했어요?”라고 물어보는
학생분들이 많이 있었어요.
그 때는 수업중이라 길게 이야기 못해서
여기 블로그에 제가 왜 일본어를 공부했는지에
대해서 이야기하려고 해요!
저에게 가장 큰 이유는 애니메이션이에요.
어릴때부터 저는 애니메이션을 좋아했어요.
짱구는 못말려, 도라에몽, 드래곤볼, 아따맘마,
이누야사 등등.. 하지만 이 애니메이션들은 다
한국어 더빙버전으로만 봤어서
저는 이 애니메이션들이 한국의 애니메이션이라고
생각 했었어요. 그러다가 우연히 원피스라는
애니메이션을 일본어 버전으로 보게 되었어요.
그 때 “내가 지금까지 보던 애니메이션들이 다 일본 애니메이션이였구나”하고 충격을 받았어요.
그 이후로 저는 애니메이션을 다 일본어 더빙으로만 봤어요.
시간이 지나서 자연스레 일본어가 들리게
되었어요!
그래서 일본어에 흥미가 생겨 군대에서
처음 공부를 시작했어요!!
지금은 애니메이션을 자막없이
볼 수 있지만 그래도 읽는 건 아직 많이 어려워요,,
제가 공부하게 된 이유는 애니메이션 이외에도
여러가지가 있지만 결국 제가 공부하게 된 가장 큰 이유는 애니메이션이에요!!
여러분들의 공부 이유는 뭔가요?? 한번 생각해보는 것도 좋을것 같다고 생각해요!

今回は、敦賀アルプラザ校の講師Sandiが
ハロウィンについて話してくれたことをご紹介します！
ハロウィンといえば、海外ではジャック・オー・ランタンを飾ったり
仮装をした子どもたちが近所のお家を訪ねて
“Trick or Treat!”とお菓子🍬をもらったりするイメージがありますが、
Sandiの出身国である南アフリカでは日本と同様
その文化はみられないそうです😮
そこで！Sandiがハロウィンの時期にピッタリな迷信話をいくつか
シェアしてくれたのでぜひ読んでみてください👻
In honour of the spooky Halloween season, I would like to share some superstitions that my grandmother taught me.
1. As a child, my grandmother used to tell me to not wear one shoe at a time. This was because it meant I might lose one of my parents.
2. When it was raining we used to cover the mirrors🪞 so that the lightning wouldn’t struck the house.
3. Recently my mom told me it’s not good to pass salt to someone🧂. If they ask for salt bring it closer or put it on the table and they will pick it up on their own. My mom believes that passing salt from hand to hand creates hatred energy between people.
What are some superstitions that your family believe in?🔮
