クリスマスとお正月についてのご紹介です🤗

Unlike Japan, where many families get together at New Year’s, Christmas is the biggest family holiday in Canada. Many stores are closed on Christmas Day because most people are spending time with family. Recently however, some restaurants and movie theatres have started to open so that people can go out as a family instead.

Canadian Christmas is quite similar to the US, but there’s one main difference—Boxing Day, December 26th. Boxing Day started in the UK, so it’s mostly celebrated in Commonwealth countries like Australia, New Zealand, and of course Canada. This is our big shopping holiday—think Black Friday, but more fun because we have Christmas money to spend! Most stores have big sales and malls are usually packed. If you want to get some good deals, Boxing Day is your best chance.

On the other hand, New Year’s is a holiday for friends. On New Year’s Eve, some people go drinking at bars or nightclubs, while others go to fireworks celebrations, and still others have house parties until midnight. To me, Canadian Christmas and New Year’s are basically the opposite of Japan’s. What do you think?

本日はNikayla先生の故郷南アフリカでの

クリスマスの過ごし方のご紹介です🌟

In South Africa, Christmas is one of the most anticipated holidays of the year. South Africans consider December the best holiday period and refer to it fondly as “ke Dezemba,”

Many people go shopping for presents, book vacations and go out drinking and partying throughout the month.

In my family, we go to church at midnight and sing carols by candle light. Christmas eve is also spent dancing and having family over. My mother spends a lot of time cleaning and cooking.

We have a special Christmas plate that comprises of homemade biscuits, chocolates, samosas, sausage pies (my favourite) and mixed nuts. My mother sends my brother to hand-deliver these plates to our family and friends.

On Christmas day, we wait until midnight and share presents. I remember working my first job and buying my two younger brothers a blue and red light saber.

I wrapped their presents in my then-manager’s office and ended up wrapping gifts for all the staff’s family members too.

I’m going home for Christmas this year, I’m looking forward to swimming, eating and playing Minecraft with my brother. (We play every December).

Hi My name is John,
I am from Newcastle in the north of England.
You will find that people from the north of England are usually friendly and helpful.

The weather can be quite wet and cold there, but I love walking on the beach, even if it is raining!
The beaches on the north east coast are beautiful and empty.
There are lighthouses, old castles.and fishing villages where you can eat local seafood, no not Sushi!

Many people think that the traditional food in England is fish and chips, but many of us eat Indian curry!
We drink lots of tea, but that is also from India!

Football is our national sport, it is said that we invented it.
Cricket is a more traditional sport but I find it very boring!
I prefer Karate and Kendo.

I think that some of the best popular music came from England. I am sure you have heard of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Dire Straits and Oasis!

Many tourists who visit England go to London, Oxford and Bath. However, there are some wonderful places that less people visit:Cornwall, Devon, The Lake District and Northumberland are beautiful areas of our island.
Of course The British Isles and The United Kingdom also contains Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We have many different accents and sometimes it is difficult to understand, especially when people from Scotland speak fast!
