Visiting Seattle
Greetings everyone! I’d like to share with you some information about my hometown of Seattle. Seattle is one of the best places to visit in America, so if you are interested in going there after reading this article I hope you have the chance visit someday.
First of all, Seattle is located in the Northwest area of America, about 3 hours by car to the Canadian border. Although it is located in the very north corner, it is much warmer than say New York in the east corner. Therefore, you can be comfortable in any season. The winter is particularly rainy, however, so other season may offer a better time for outdoor activities.
Seattle is conveniently located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, with the Rocky Mountains bordering on the east side. Therefore, it is a wonderful place to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, boating, camping, fishing, and in the winter, skiing and snowboarding.
If outdoor sports aren’t your cup of tea, then there are plenty of other interesting spots to check out. Among the most popular are several types of tours which you can take. Since Seattle is on the ocean coast, there are many boat tours which you can view the many small islands around the bay, mountain ranges, and even the many whales that swim in the area. The seaside area of Seattle also has many museums and shopping areas which are quite popular. In the downtown area, you can visit the Space Needle, which is a tower similar to Tokyo Tower in that you can ride to the top in an elevator and get a spectacular view of the city. Near the Space Needle is a very unique interactive music museum that people of all ages can enjoy.
Other points of interest in Seattle are the Seattle Mariners baseball team, the Boeing aircraft factory (which includes a history of flight museum), the many large casinos, outlet shopping malls, and tours of the Microsoft head office which is located on the east side of Seattle.
Whatever your interests are, I am sure you can find something worthwhile in Seattle!
