Hello, my name is Zoey Thain and it is my pleasure to introduce myself to you as a new member of the NOVA team at the Nishi-Umeda branch! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!
I was born in Ottawa, Canada, but have lived all over the country. I mostly grew up in the city of Montreal, but also spent a few years in Vancouver and Edmonton! I have visited Japan many times in the past, but I mainly stayed in the Kyushu region where my in-laws live. I recently decided to move to Osaka with my partner because it is a city that we both love to visit. I am excited for this new journey and I hope to learn a lot.
My hobbies include reading and creative writing. I have a goal of writing my own fiction book in the future! I also love learning about languages. I have a degree in English language and literature and took a lot of linguistics courses in university. I am bilingual in French and English and have taken a few Japanese classes, but it is difficult to learn a new language! I want my students to know that I have been in their place many times before, and I understand how intimidating it can be to learn a new language. We`re in this together!
