少しずつですが、暖かくなってきて桜が咲き始めているこの時期！

そろそろお花見の計画を立てている方もいるのではないのでしょうか？(o^―^o)

今回は「お花見」の際につかえる英単語を紹介していきます！

・breath-taking 息を飲むような

例:The beauty took my breath-away. 美しさに息をのんだ。

・go to see cherry blossoms　花見に行く

例:I’ll go to see cherry blossoms viewing with my friends.　友人達とお花見に行く。

例:Let’s paint the town red! パーッと行こう！

・hangover 二日酔い

例:I’m hangover. 私は二日酔いです。

突然ですが、みなさん甘いものはお好きですか？

チョコレートやケーキ、フルーツ、アイスクリームなどに目がないですか？

勉強の合間や、お仕事の休憩中にあまーいものを食べて、

「もうちょっと頑張ろう！」とやる気をあげたり、

友人と楽しくおしゃべりしながらお菓子をつまんだりなど。

かくいう私は、甘党です（笑）

「甘いもの」を使った表現や慣用句を紹介していきます！

・I have a sweet tooth.　（私は甘党です。）

・You can’t your cake and eat it. （両方のいいとこ取りはできない。）

例:You don’t want to take time for studying English but you want to pass test?You can’t your cake and eat it.(英語を勉強したくないけどテストに受かりたい？そう都合よくいかないよ。)

・It’s a piece of cake!　(そんなの簡単だよ！)

・sour grapes (負け惜しみ)

・honey-tongued （口がうまい）

・breadwinner (一家の稼ぎ手、大黒柱)

うーん！『甘いもの』だからって、恋人を呼ぶときのような

かわいらしい表現だけでは無い！（←え？）

はやり、勉強すればするほど面白いですね。ネイティブ英語って♪

I feel like having some chocolate！

これからだんだん暖かくなる時期ですが、
衣替えはしましたか？
タンスから半年前に着ていた服を見つけたり、
春に流行する服を買いに出かけたり、
洋服の断捨離を始めたり、
と、ありますよね。
今回は「衣替え」と「流行」に関する英単語について紹介していきたいと思います！

・seasonal change of clothing　衣替え

・to dress for the occasion その場に適した洋服を着る

・to have an eye for fashion　服のセンスを見抜く目がある

・to keep up with the latest fashion　流行を追う

・the height of fashion　最新の流行の服

・must-have なくてはならないもの、必携の

・to be on trend 　（服装が）とても流行的

・to go out of fashion　（流行が）廃れている

英会話や、何かを始めようとお考えの方も多いのではないでしょうか？

まだ寒い時期が続きますが、少しづつ暖かくなってきているこの季節。

今回は、春、新しいスタート！に使える英単語フレーズを紹介していきます！

ご友人との会話中や、SNSなどの一言コメントにも使えるフレーズとなってます♪

・It getting warmer. 暖かくなってきました。

・Spring is here! 春が来ました！

・The weather suggestive of spring. 春を思わせる天気。

・I have a hay fever. 私は花粉症です。

・I like spring better than winter. 私は冬より春が好きです。

・a peaceful spring scene 春ののどかな景色

・start from scratch ゼロからのスタート

例：Starting from scratch, I learnt the playing the piano. ゼロからスタートして、ピアノを熟達した。

Spring is just around the corner!

　　3月へ突入をし、少しづつ暖かい日が増えてきました(‘ω’)

　　紅色の梅の花を近くの公園で目にするようになり

　　春のおとづれを感じる今日この頃ですが、花粉症も

    はじまってきており、お花がポツポツと開花する中

     お鼻がグズグズするこの時期ですね。。。

　そんな春の花や花粉症はイギリスにはあるのかなど　

　　イギリス人講師James先生に聞いてみました！

　　James先生は立川校で人気の

      とってもスマートでジェントルマンな講師です☆彡

　　

　　Staff: Hey James, how’s it going?

　　James: Good, you?

　　Staff: Great thanks, I’m happy it’s going to be spring soon.

　　　　　　How do you like the spring season in Japan?

　　James: I love spring here. The temperature is perfect and

　　　　　the sun is usually out. I also like how people’s attitude

　　　　　changes in spring with the　likes of ‘hanami’ parties

　　　　　and generally spending more time outside.

　　Staff: Is it the same in the UK?

　　

　　James: There are similarities, sure. But we don’t have

　　　　　　the same culture of visiting parks so often that comes

　　　　 　from the love of cherry blossoms in Japan.

　　　　　 We do have a lot of hay fever though in the UK, just like Japan!

　　Staff: Interesting…. Many people in Japan go to the doctor’s or

　　　　 take medicine, it has been more severe lately. How about the UK?

　　James: I’d say that it’s less common for people to suffer

　　　　　　from hay fever 　in the UK. Many do suffer but

　　　　　　I think in Japan the percentage of the population is

　　　　　　higher. In the UK we just take some tablets.

　　　　　　I’ve noticed that the tablets in Japan are stronger!

　　　　　 Also, in the UK we don’t wear masks over our mouths at all,

　　　　　 that’s unique to Asian countries!

　　　Staff: Yes, I’ve heard that! Last spring was your first spring

　　　　　　　 in Japan, 　right? What did you do?

　　　　James: Well, my parents visited me for the first time so

　　　　　　I spent a lot of time with them. My mum was OBSESSED

　　　　　 with cherry blossoms so we went to Showa Kinen Park,

　　　　　Kunitachi, Meguro, Kawaguchiko and more.

　　　　 It was like a cherry blossom tour- she loved it!

　　　　 I was a little bored of cherry blossoms after so many, if I’m honest.

　いつもNOVA立川校にきてくださっている皆様に

　感謝申し上げます。

　さてNOVA立川校もスクールが誕生してなんと

　8年がたちました。

　そこでもう少し学校の様子を知っていただこうと

　ブログをスタートしたいと思います。

　そこで講師メンバー一人目を紹介します。

　

　カナダ・バンクーバー出身のVincent

 

　一番若くて元気のよい講師です。

　

　彼についてと出身地カナダと日本についてインタビュー

　してみます。

　　

              Staff: Hi, whats up?

              Vincent: Nothing much. You?

              Staff: I’m fine! So you’re from Canada right? Which area are you from?

              Vincent: I was born and raised in Vancouver.

              Staff: What’s the biggest difference between Canada and Japan?

              Vincent: Oh.. that’s a tough question. I’d say the biggest difference is                                        variety. There are a lot of things you can do and see in Japan.                                           ”Culture” and ”Food” would be too easy an answer.

              Staff: What’s the best thing about Japan?

              Vincent: For me, the best thing about Japan would be the nostalgia.                                              I’ve been to Japan many times since I was young, so I have a lot of                    memories here.

              Staff: How long do you see yourself staying in Japan?

              Vincent: When I decided to buy my plane ticket, I told myself that I                                                      would stay forever.

              Staff: Oh! You must love Japan a lot. Thanks for answering my                                                        questions.

              Vincent: No problem!
