本日は4月から毎週土曜日に来てくれているCallum先生をご紹介します❕😝

Hi❕ I`m Callum. I`m from Melbourne, currently the second largest city in Australia and expected to be the largest by 2026.I came to Japan to learn more about Japanese culture and to explore as many places as possible. I`ve visited many prefectures in Japan and plan to go to Kyushu next. My hobbies include painting, playing guitar and writing songs, photography, Japanese history, cycling, reading and travelling. On my days off I like to cycle to historic places around Tokyo and Kanagawa, when I have time.I also like taking photos around Tokyo and eating at my favourite restaurants. I watch Youtube all the time at home.I love watching Kpop videos, interviews, documentaries and Japanese language Youtubers.

🥗Poke🥗

Hi！NOVA池袋西口校です🖼

本日は料理上手🍳のLance先生がハワイ料理のPokeについてお話ししてくれました💛

Hello! Have you cooked anything good recently? The other day, a NOVA student taught me how to make a very simple sashimi rice bowl recipe. Just heat and mix together some soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, and cooking sake. Cool down the mixture and marinate some sashimi with it for at least 15 seconds and add whatever toppings you like. I recommend sesame seeds, avocado, or green onions. Serve over a bowl of fresh rice and BOOM!! A beautiful lunch or dinner! I made this two days in a row because it was so delicious. Then, today I cooked some shrimp and asparagus pasta in a basil tomato sauce. Delish. If you are looking for new ideas to make for dinner, here are a couple of suggestions!

😲Exercise/Weight training😲

本日はTOP50常連講師❕Arvin先生がいつもやっているトレーニングについて
お話ししてくれました😳

Exercise/Weight training

Physical exercise is one of the most important things in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is not only helpful to manage weight/physical appearence but it can also help with stress relief and mental performance. As a general goal, we should aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity everyday in order to maintain or lose weight. Personally, my primary focus is on “body building” so I go to the gym 5 or 6 times per week, following a “push”, “pull” and “legs” routine. For example, on my “push” days I focus on pushing exercises such as the bench press and shoulder press which primarily works the chest, shoulders and triceps. On my “pull” days I focus on pulling exercises such as pull ups/lat pull downs and rows which primarily works the back and biceps. Finally on “leg” days I focus on leg exercises such as squats and leg extensions, although to be honest I hate leg days.
No matter what your exercise routine is, from a strict gym routine to short walks/runs, all that matters is that your being active and moving your body. A healthy body, a healthy mind.

Selfie. A selfie is a picture that you take of yourself especially by using the camera on your smartphone. Usually either holding your phone in your outreached hand in front of yourself or by using a selfie stick.
Selfies are often shared on social media, via social networking services such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram.
I read somewhere that the origin of selfie stems from Japanese purikura culture and the first selfie stick was invented by a couple of employees at Minolta but it didn’t catch on at that time.

Usage example:
A: What would you do if you met a famous person?
B: I would definitely snap a selfie with them.

🥚Happy Easter🥚

本日はRobert先生が4月4日のイースターの日についてお話してくれました🐰🥚

How much do you know about Easter? Here are a couple of things about the holiday that you might find interesting.
Easter is a Christian holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, which occured on the third day after his burial following his crucifixion-an ancient form of execution in which a person was nailed or bound to a cross.
It is preceded by Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance-the turning away from sin and turning to faith in God. Many people choose to give up something, give to charity or volunteer during the 40 days.
So, why do people color eggs for this holiday?
The egg is an ancient symbol of new life and rebirth. In Christianity it became associated with Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection.
The custom of the Easter egg originated in the early Christian community when people stained eggs red in memory of the blood of Christ that was shed at his crucifixion. And it is said that for some Christians, the Easter egg is a symbol of the empty tomb.
According to Wikipedia, the oldest tradition was to use dyed chicken eggs. The modern custom is to use dyed eggs too, but also decorated chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with candy such as jellybeans. People enjoy these candies and sweets at Easter after having abstained from them during the preceding forty days of Lent.
And, Did you know that Easter is an annual holiday but the date changes every year. It does always fall on a Sunday, though. Basically, Easter Sunday is the first Sunday following the first full moon after the first day of spring.
This year the vernal equinox was on March 20th, the first full moon after that date March 28th making the following Sunday, April 4, Easter 2021.

现在天气越来越暖和了，去户外运动的人也越来越多了。
我也很喜欢做运动。休息的时候，很喜欢做瑜伽。做瑜伽有很多好处，比方说，做瑜伽可以减肥，还可以促进新陈代谢，瑜伽是一项很健康的运动，大家一起做瑜伽吧！

こんにちは、周方旭です。
天気がだんだん暖かくなりました、外で運動する人もどんどん多くなりました。
私も運動が大好きで、休みの時に、私はヨガをするのが大好きです。
ヨガすることはたくさんのいい点があります。例えば、ダイエットや体の代謝も促進することができます。ヨガはとても健康的な運動で、一緒にヨガしましょう。

だんだん温かくなってきましたね🌤

Hello! Today’s word of the day is “drizzling.” Do you know what this means? It means ‘it’s raining lightly.’ For example, if someone asks you “Hey, is it raining hard outside?”you can answer with “Nope, it’s only drizzling.”

🌸Sakura in the United Stated🌸

本日はアメリカ出身ベテランのRobert先生が‘‘Sakura‘‘についておはなししてくれました🌸

March means the blooming of cherry blossoms. In Japan, where the infatuation with these flowers must have originated, sakura symbolizes the fleeting nature of life. It is an optimistic time with longer days to enjoy, and there is an aroma of sweetness in the air.
Japan might be the best known destination for cherry blossoms, but did you know you can celebrate this beautiful time outside of Japan? One famous spot is in Washington, D.C. According to Wikipedia, In 1912, the mayor of Tokyo gifted 3,000 trees to the District of Columbia as a symbol of Japanese American friendship. But that is not the only place to appreciate them. There are parks, gardens, and scenic drives where you can see these pale pink flowers all over the United States.
Of course It is difficult to anticipate exactly when cherry blossoms will make their annual appearance in the United States each spring. However, much of the U.S. can see peak blooms in March or April. Cherry blossoms can appear as early as February in some places like California, or as late as May, in Michigan-where I am from-depending on the weather that year.
Once in bloom, these iconic flowers do not stick around for long, but that’s part of their allure. The Japanese custom of hanami counteracts this notion of imminent decay, a tradition of gathering beneath the blossoms with food and friends to celebrate.
Although we have cherry blossom trees in many areas of the U.S. there is no custom of gathering with food and friends beneath the blossoms. I personally enjoy this time and think we should start the same custom of celebration and appreciation in the United States.
