イギリス出身のAlice先生です🌸Alice先生からメッセージを頂きました！

Hi my name is Alice.

I come from England in the UK.

I studied Japanese at the University of Leeds and got my bachelor’s in　 Linguistics and Phonetics. Linguistics is the study of language including how we learn language, how language is created and translated and things like that. Phonetics is the study of how all sounds in language are produced in the throat and mouth. I loved the subjects I studied very much and I believe they help me be the best teacher I can be.

I have been a teacher part-time since I was 16 years old. I worked as a teaching assistant in the ESL (English as a Second Language) department and tutored groups and individuals privately too. I also worked in many public schools providing extra teaching to kids ages 6-16 who needed more support. 　　　　　As well as this, I have taught English in the North of Italy and taught Chinese children online during the pandemic. I love to teach.
I hope that makes my lessons fun!

In my free time I write stories. I hope to someday have my books published.
I also love Irish dancing, swimming and walking in nature.
I spend a lot of my weekends exploring as much as I can.
I can’t wait to meet you in my class.
I hope for the sessions to be very fun for us all!

Birthplace was born in Dallas, Texas, famous from its Barbecue(Brisket) Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, FC Dallas, Dallas Mavericks, and Texas Rangers. It also know from being the home of former United States President George W. Bush.
Hobbies: Import Tuning, Traveling and learning about different cultures and languages.
University Major: Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (International Politics) and Master of Arts in Political Science (Intelligence and National Security Studies)
Reasoning for coming to Japan was learn Japanese, travel to different prefectures, eat different Japanese’s cuisines and to get a PhD. Asian Studies.

本日は最近人気急上昇中のCalvin先生に旅行の思い出について
ブログを書いてもらいました！！
どんな旅行の思い出があるのか見てみましょう👀💓

traveling is something that I am greatly passionate about, it has given me the chance to see places and cultures I ever thought I’d be able to experience. The sensation of being in an environment that you have never been in before is one that stays with you for a long time as well as it usually involving memorable moments.
One of my most memorable trips was the time I went down to Kumamoto with a few friends. On this trip we did the most wild and fun things a person could do, including various things I am not willing to discuss here ;). We also enjoyed the local cuisine such as “basashi” which is a type of sashimi but uses horse meat as opposed to fish. Sushi is also incredibly delicious as they are able to catch fresh fish since Kumamoto is located next to the ocean. I would recommend the negitoro and tuna. I also ended up meeting all kinds of people in the most random of places which further expanded my knowledge of Japanese culture as well as learning about the different lives of each person.
Naturally, where there are incredible moments and trips such as this one, it is a given that there are also ones with moments that are not so desirable. For instance I had the absolute displeasure of being stuck in shanghai airport for 16 hours due to delays and cancellations due to poor weather conditions. It makes for a funny story to look back on but in the moment, sleeping on the floor of an airport is not something desperately pleasant.

So in conclusion, traveling gives you many important and exciting experiences which shape you as a person. So go out there and explore the world and all it has to offer!

オーストラリアの特別な日についてブログに書いてもらいました。

Hi, everyone!

In this blog post I’d like to talk about a special day in my home country, Australia. On April 25th we commemorate Anzac Day. Have you heard of it? Most people outside Australia and New Zealand have not heard of it but on this day Australians and New Zealanders pay their respects to those who have served in the military and especially those who lost their lives in conflicts over the past decades. It’s a very solemn occasion that originated after the Gallipoli campaign in World War One, when members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) attempted to land on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey and suffered terrible casualties. Despite failure, the soldiers showed great bravery and sacrifice and it became a symbol of national identity.

The day begins with a dawn service, when war veterans and the public gather early in the morning. A lone bugler plays the piece “Last Post”, followed by two minutes silence to remember the fallen soldiers and then it concludes with the bugler playing another piece, “Reveille”. I remember this from when I was a kid because my grandfather served in World War Two and marched down the main street. I was very proud! After the marches the veterans usually meet up with their mates and have a few beers, talk about their service and remember those who gave their lives. It’s a time of great joy and sadness.

Around Anzac Day it’s a bit of a tradition to make Anzac biscuits, a kind of cookie with coconut, oatmeal and golden syrup that were sent to soldiers overseas. This year I will be making some with my daughter. You can find the recipe on the internet if you’d like to try making them.
They are easy to make and delicious!
