前回のブログに引き続き本日も、「コーヒー大好きMarshalのおすすめカフェ」をご紹介致します。

コーヒーと日本のレトロなカフェが大好きで、毎週のようにカフェに行っているMarshal。昨年もたくさんのおすすめカフェブログを書いてくれましたが、今年もたくさん行っているようですので、最近のおすすめカフェをご紹介致します。ぜひリーディングの練習に挑戦してみてください😊。

今回は長いのでPart1とPart2に分けてお送りいたします。今回はPart2なのでPart1ご覧になられてない方はそちらからご覧になって下さいませ。

I absolutely adored the big Polish breakfast. We were served a colorful plate of food. This included apple pancakes (racuszki), cheese toast (twarog), a potato pancake (placki ziemniaczane), scrambled eggs and tomato, and sliced sausage. The apple pancakes were slightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The light, sweet apple flavor actually brought a smile to my face. I don’t really enjoy apple fillings in pastries, but despite that I really did enjoy these pancakes. I finished the potato pancake in one bite, since I was very hungry at that moment. It had a savory taste that made me want to order seconds. The cheese toast had a thick creamy taste that was quite filling. Personally, I really enjoyed the eggs and sausage together, as the flavors complemented each other perfectly. On the side we had also ordered a bowl of zurek, a substantial soup with boiled eggs, bacon, and potato. It was a hearty soup, the likes of which I hadn’t had in a long time. It was finished in an instant. We ended the feast with dessert, a Polish apple pie (szarlotka) with a side of vanilla ice cream. I was surprised to see how prevalent apples were in all these baked menu items. I’ve never been exposed to Polish food before, but I can safely say that I’ve had a fantastic first experience here. I’ll be going back soon for more.

今回は長いのでPart1とPart2に分けてお送りいたします。

We really enjoy coming to World Breakfast, and they just introduced their new Polish breakfast. Of course we had to give it a try. When they say Allday in their name, they really mean it. They serve breakfast food well into the evening. It’s never too crowded either, so it’s always a pleasant experience coming here. We started by looking at the drink menu. The weather was quite cold that day, so I was in the mood for something warm to drink. I ordered the Polish grain coffee. This is a caffeine-free coffee substitute made from rye, barley, chicory, and sugar beet. I actually enjoyed the taste much more than the chicory coffee I had here last time. It had a smokey flavor which reminded me a bit of very dark roast coffee; it was quite relaxing. We also ordered the herbata, a dried fruit tea which can be served hot or cold. It actually had fruit floating in it! It was slightly sweet and very comforting in this cold weather.

本日は火曜日に出勤している講師Mayaのご紹介です。アメリカのLA出身で、明るく元気で人気のMaya。旅行も好きで色々行っており、今回は伊豆への旅行の思い出をブログに書いてくれましたので、ぜひご覧になってみてくださいね。

I recently went to Izu and experienced glass making. Right in front of Jogasaki suspension bridge there is a glass museum where they have these courses and sell super cute tiny glass creations. I’ve dabbled in many arts and crafts projects before but I think this was the hardest one so far.

ガラス工芸をやったことある方はいらっしゃいますか？Mayaはとんぼ玉を作ったようで、普通のとんぼ玉に加えて、大好きなワンちゃんの形も作ったようです。かわいいですね！ぜひ旅行の話も含めてレッスンで聞いてみてくださいね！Mayaは、毎週火曜日の16:20から出勤しています。

Cafe de Maestro Part 2

The coffee was absolutely splendid. I’m guessing by the taste, but I believe they mostly used dark roasted beans in their blend. It had a deep, nutty flavor with no acidity or sourness, but it did have a fruity aftertaste. I think it was one of the more unique house blends I have tried. The food was fantastic as well. We decided to split the croque monsieur, a delicately toasted sandwich with cheese and ham. Surprisingly, the sandwich came with two pieces of grapefruit on top of two large pieces of lettuce. It made for a very colorful spread. I had never seen a sandwich served like that robefore, but I really did appreciate it. After the sandwich, we were served dessert. Originally, we were hoping to order their pristine looking cheesecake, but sadly they were sold out that day. We opted to go for the chiffon cake instead. To be honest, I think that was for the best. This was absolutely the best chiffon cake that I’ve had so far in all the cafes I’ve visited (in my opinion), it was light, moist, and flavorful all at the same time, and it looked beautiful to boot. I really was not expecting the chiffon cake to be this good, and I was happy to be wrong. If that wasn’t enough, a small cup of yogurt was also served with dessert. The yogurt was a small serving, just a few spoonfuls, but it looked very cute and was a nice complement to the chiffon cake. All in all, this cafe was definitely worth the trip.

今回も長めでしたのでPart 1とPart 2に分けてお送りします。

Cafe de Maestro Part 1

I’m so glad I went to this cafe. It’s quite far from where I live, but it was such a pleasant experience. This cafe is on the second floor of a building near the station. The interior was dimly lit and cozy, with several interesting knickknacks adorning the walls and shelves. These decorations included vintage cameras, small wooden carvings of cats, statues of demons, plants, and many more. It was all very charming and made the cafe feel like someone’s home. The owner was a nice older lady who was very welcoming and attentive. As soon as she showed us to our seats, she placed a menu on the table. The menu was actually quite striking, as it was printed directly on leather. The menu items were quite extensive as well. The cafe offered several kinds of toast, sandwiches, cakes, and several single origin coffees. I had checked the menu beforehand, and I had already decided to get their croque monsieur. I also always make a point to try a cafe’s house blend, rather than their single origin coffee. I just think it offers a unique flavor that you can’t get anywhere else. I had been looking forward to getting their cheesecake too, but sadly that was sold out. I’ll have to come back and try to order it again.
