Halloween has always been one of my favorite seasonal holidays.
When I was a child, I enjoyed dressing up for Halloween to go
“trick or treating” for candy. In university and as an adult,
I would regularly attend Halloween parties,
with food, drinks and scary movies playing on tv.
Last year was my first year living in Japan and have had good Halloween experiences. This year, both Ikebukuro and Shinjuku were very crowded.
I was so surprised when I saw how many people there were dressed up as different characters or scary monsters.
Last year I dressed up as kamen rider,
but this year I was Mario.
It was really fun hearing people screaming
“Look! It’s Mario!” Whether you are young or old,
Halloween is a fun time in Japan!
