I usually don’t have much to add to the blog, however last month my mother came to visit me. This being the third time she has visited Japan. She wanted to see me and check to see how I was doing in Japan, but I think she was also just escaping from a family wedding that same week 😂.
Together we ate some sushi, she really liked the tuna rolls.
In my days off work we travelled to Hakata, a first for both of us. There we visited the famous Nanzo-in temple to see the laying buddha. The matcha ice cream was also really nice. 😋
For dinner we, of course, needed to get some of Hakata’s famous pork bone ramen. We found a small independent shop on the west side of Hakata, it was really good, the broth was just thick enough with plenty of flavor. I finished my bowl and had to help my Mum finish hers as well. 😂
After Hakata I had to return back to Hiroshima, while Mum went to Beppu to try an authentic Japanese hot spring for the first time. She loved it, she made friends with many of the residents in the area as they helped her order at the restaurants.
I’m looking forward to returning to the southern part of Japan in future travels.
