Hello everyone! Alex here to tell you about my hometown. I am from the city of Rochester, New York. That’s New York state, not New York city. Rochester is a medium sized city close to Canada. It is most famous for bad weather. We get lots of rain and snow. Summer is short and winter is long. The city was built on Lake Ontario on the Genesee River. There are 2 waterfalls in the city which used to provide power. Rochester has one of the oldest breweries in America, Genesee Brewery. In Japan you can see products from two companies that started in Rochester. Champion clothing was started in Rochester in 1919, over 100 years ago. If you wear contacts you may use Bausch & Lomb products, a company created in Rochester in 1853! If you visit Rochester, be sure to check out our famous supermarket Wegmars, I’ve heard that Yaoko super in Japan is modeled after it! So if you are in New York state and want to see my hometown, stop by Rochester!
