皆様はどんなゴールデンウィークを過ごされましたか？🛬💼

Hi, it’s Marcus! Do you have any plans for Golden Week? My current plans include watching a film at the cinema, visiting the Sea Life Aquarium in Nagoya, and going to Ghibli Park!

Firstly, the film that I would like to watch is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. This film releases on the 24th of April in Japan, but it has actually been available to watch since the beginning of the month in many other countries. Unfortunately, the movie has not been receiving overly-positive reviews from critics, but it seems that it has still been popular with audiences despite that, and has performed well commercially so far. Regardless of these factors, I would still like to see the film anyway, as I am a lifelong fan of the franchise.

At Nagoya’s Sea Life Aquarium, they are currently hosting a collaboration event with Nintendo’s video game series Animal Crossing (or Doubutsu no Mori). This event has been moving around many aquariums across Japan, South Korea, the USA, the UK, and Germany, so it’s lucky that I’ve been able to purchase a ticket during a time when it’s back in Japan! I believe that the main activity at the event is a stamp rally, in which visitors to the aquarium must match fish they see in the aquarium to fish that appear in the game, that will also be on each guest’s stamp card. Collecting them all will result in a prize!

Finally, I have actually been to the Ghibli Park previously, but only within the area that is open for access without paying for a ticket. This area is surprisingly large, and that alone takes an hour or so to get around. On my next visit, though, I will return with a Standard Pass! This enables guests to enter three main locations – Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Mononoke Village, and the Valley of Witches. There is also a Premium Pass that allows fans to access two additional areas – the Hill of Youth, and Dondoko Forest – however, this ticket is a little expensive, so I decided not to select this one on this trip. Maybe next time!
