先日はバレンタインデーでしたね！
皆さんはチョコレートを誰かに贈ったり食べたりしましたか？？🍫
ちなみにチョコレートを贈り合う文化は、クリスマスにケーキを食べる文化と同様に
ほぼ日本独自のものだということを皆さんは知っていましたか？👀
他の国でもチョコレートを贈り合う文化はありますが
あくまでプレゼントの選択肢の一つで、
お花やカードなどを贈り合うのが主流のようです！💐

ということで、本日はバレンタインデーに関する他国の文化を紹介します！
今回は人気講師Ulysses👨🏼‍🦲がエッセイ形式で書いてくれたので
英文リーディングに挑戦してみてくださいね🌈

Most of us are familiar with Valentine’s Day, celebrated on the 14th of February, being a one-day affair. But have you heard of Valentine’s Week? It could be the next big thing.

To start off with, we have Rose Day on Feb. 7 – a day for giving roses as gifts. Feb. 8th is Propose Day, a day to confess our feelings for a crush or propose to our significant other. On the 9th we have Chocolate Day which should be self-explanatory. Feb. the 10th is Teddy Day, a day to give stuffed animals as presents. Next up is Promise Day on Feb. 11 which is a day to strengthen relationships with promises. Hug Day and Kiss Day cover Feb 12th and 13th respectively. Finally, we have the main event, February 14th, Valentine’s Day itself.

What do you think? Will Valentine’s Week catch on or is it all just wishful thinking on business owners’ part? How can we best celebrate our relationships with our loved ones?
