Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a fantastic winter break and the new near is off to a great start.

With it being a new year, it`s a great time to try new things and even pick back up on old hobbies and interests. In the New Year, we make something called a New Year`s resolution. This is when we make a promise or give a goal to ourselves to achieve in the new year. Maybe you have something similar here in Japan? I`d love to hear about it if so.

This year, I made two New Year`s resolutions. The first was that I`d study my Japanese and Finnish lessons a lot more. As someone who also studies another language, I understand it can be a bit difficult, but I do everything I can to push myself to study harder. There`s a great quote I remind myself of when I study either language and it`s that “to have another language is to possess a second soul.” This was reported to have been said by King Charlemagne and it just means that learning a new language is a great way to discover new things about a culture and experience it as well. It helps improve ourselves too!
My second resolution is that I would finish writing a book this year.
