南アフリカの夏休みについて聞いてみました！
期間や宿題などの学校事情から夏休みの思い出まで！

It’s SUMMER TIME!🤭🏖️
Fun Fact: Summer in South Africa starts in December and ends in February. Which is the complete opposite of summer in Japan.
When I was still in high school in South Africa, the summer break would last for five to six 6 weeks, between December and January.
Usually we would not get any homework during this time, because when the schools reopened in January we would be starting a new grade. So we had plenty of time to enjoy the summer vacation without any academic stress.
I grew up in the city of Johannesburg. So usually during Summer, I would visit my family in the rural/countryside of South Africa. Most people who live in the city prefer visiting family in the rural/countryside during summer.
We use to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Day together with my cousins. My best memory was when I was in elementary school. On Christmas Day, my cousins and I would dress nicely with our brand new clothes that haven’t been worn, and we would walk around the streets in our area showing off our new clothes. We had so much fun and see who was best dressed.
My grand mother also used to cook the best Christmas lunch. She brought everyone together through her love for cooking. This year I will miss her Christmas lunch.
