まもなく12月ですね！クリスマスまで後１ヶ月🎅
カナダ出身の人気講師Darrellより、カナダでのクリスマスの過ごし方を

Christmas, like Ohshougatsu in Japan, is about family. People travel from all over Canada and beyond to spend the holidays with their family. There are really two Christmases: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve, people often work a half day, until noon, and then go out for a quick drink with co-workers or straight home. By six o’clock, the city is quiet. In the evening, we eat, drink and hang out with family, often while listening to Christmas music. The next day, we get up early, especially if we have kids, to exchange presents. Once that’s done, we get the turkey ready and put it in the oven. It takes a long time, pretty well all day,
to cook so, as we sit and wait for dinner, the house slowly fills with the smell of roast turkey. While we wait, we watch TV, play games and chat. Around six, we eat dinner: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad and various side dishes, as well as dessert. When I was young, we always had two pies, both homemade, often apple and chocolate cream. Afterwards, we clean up and return to the living room, sit down and loosen our belts to make room for all the food we’ve eaten and chat. By ten everyone is tired and people start going home. The next day, Boxing Day, is also a holiday but that is largely for shopping. Merry Christmas!
