Well, autumn is upon us, and we are moving ever closer to winter.
For me, winter is a good time to eat some great homely food.
Back home, my family loves a good old-fashioned stew on those cold winter nights.
Chuck beef is a typical cut for stewing,
but if you really fancy something a little more rich, then why not steak?
Throw in some potatoes, carrots, peas, thyme, sage, and a bay leaf or two; add a couple of OXO cubes, salt, and pepper; and let it simmer until it has a nice gloopy texture.
Yep, I prefer thick stew. Oh, and don’t forget the dumplings!!!
