Over the Golden Week holidays I spent one week in Seoul, South Korea visiting friends and exploring the Korean language and culture.
I hiked up to Seoul Tower to get a good view of the city. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and foggy.
I walked one hour across the Hangang river. (gang means river in Korean) It was a nice way to cross from the South side of the city to the city center in the North.
I visited the famous Gyeongbokgung Palace.
I went to Myeongdong, a popular, crowded area known for its street food.
I visited Gangnam district, Itaewon district, and Hongde district. Hongde is a popular student area, Itaewon is the most popular hang out area for foreigners, and Gangnam, well I think there’s a song about it.
I went to staefield Byeol mun a popular Library and Instagram spot. I did not intend to go there. I stumbled upon it. It was a happy accident.
I went to the two most popular markets, Gwangjang and Namdaemun Market.
I saw many people carrying iced coffees, particularly iced Americans from popular coffee places like Mammoth Coffee and Mega Coffee.
