Hello, this is Daniel from Ibaraki Nova! I hope you all are doing well.

Today I’d like to talk about St. Patrick’s Day, held on March 17th. This day is often celebrated in the US to celebrate our Irish heritage. Many people in the US, like myself, have ancestors who came from Ireland.

One thing we like to do is to wear green clothes. If you don’t you might get pinched! Green’s the theme, whether it be a pint of green beer or dying the Chicago River green you’ll be sure to see plenty of green.

Of course, we will eat some traditional Irish food. My personal favorite is colcannon, a mixture of mashed potatoes and kale or cabbage, but you can’t go wrong with a boxty or a nice lamb stew.

I really hope you look into the history and traditions of this holiday, and I hope we can talk about it next time we meet!
