Hello everyone, I’m Brooks!
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m from the United States. I grew up in the state of Illinois, but I most recently lived in San Francisco,
California. In college, I studied Biology. When I moved to San Francisco, I worked full time as a scientist. Whenevever I have free time, I love to hike and to be outside.
I also love being by the water, whether it’s a river, lake, or the ocean! I used to go kayaking almost every weekend when I lived in California.
The California weather and nature are probably what I miss the most about being in the US. There’s almost every climate possible within a three hour drive from San Francisco, from mountains to deserts to gigantic beaches! I’d really like to go kayaking and hiking more here in Japan. So far, some of my favorite places in Kyoto have been the Kamo River andthe monkey park at Arashiyama.
Anyway, if you ever see me at a NOVA school, be sure to say hi and to tell me any recommendations you might have for places to hike or to just be outdoors!
