Hello everyone! My name is Chams, I am from Morocco. I came to Japan in May 2025 and I live in Kyoto! I love taking walks by the Kamo river and going to cafes here. My hobbies are traveling (one of my favorite things I’ve seen on my trips is Aurora in Finland!) , watching movies and listening to music. I think learning English should be just as enjoyable as it is useful, so my teaching style is patient and supportive because I want you to feel comfortable speaking, asking questions and even making mistakes! I can’t wait to see you at NOVA Kitaojiko soon!

Hello, everyone! My name is Lindsey, and I’m from the United States, a small city called Little Rock, Arkansas. I moved to Kyoto, Japan, in 2025, but before that, I lived in South Korea for 7 years. I taught English and studied Korean, and I made many musician friends. I love everything about music—I like singing karaoke and playing piano in addition to listening to many different kinds of music. I also love reading books and learning new languages. When I lived in South Korea, I studied and learned a lot of Korean, but now that I live in Japan, I am learning Japanese. I think learning Korean is helping me learn Japanese more quickly.
Because I love learning and speaking different languages, I think I can understand English learners really well and help them with the difficult parts of a new language. I’ve also had many other jobs in the past (scientist, research, musician, engineer, translator), so if there are any special terms or expressions for a specific career or hobby, I can teach many of those as well. Finally, I love answering questions, so please ask me any questions about any topics and I will be happy to answer!
