【NOVA大宮西口校】オーストラリアの秋って日本とどう違うの🐨❓

やっと夏が終わったかと思えば、
もう既に寒くなりつつありますね☃

今日は、そんな年々短くなっている気がする『秋』について、
講師のDanielがブログを書いてくれました！

オーストラリアの秋は日本とどう違うのでしょうか？

Autumn in Australia

Autumn is quite a special time of year in Australia. As it is in the Southern Hemisphere, Autumn begins in March and ends in May. The obvious advantage of Autumn is that it marks the end of the brutal Australian summer, though in some locations, the weather can stay rather hot through April. In addition to cooler weather, there are numerous other perks to Australian Autumn.

Cultural Events. Autumn marks the beginning of a busy period for Australian culture. One example is the Royal Easter Show in Sydney, which happens to be a treasured memory of my youth. This event not only contains many carnival rides, petting zoos, and food vendors, but also a huge variety of “show bags”. Eager children and adults alike can choose from themed bags, which generally contain a large amount of chocolate, candy, and often toys. Sometimes these are based on pop culture franchises.

The Adelaide Fringe Festival is another important event on the Australian cultural calendar. In February and March, large crowds enjoy a variety of musical, comedy, and theater acts in the South Australian Capital. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival takes place in March and April of every year. It is considered one of the premier comedy event s in the world, and attracts talent from all over the globe.

Wine harvest season is yet another important part of Australian autumn. Australia is famed for producing some of the best wine in the world. Particularly in regions like the Barossa Valley and Yarra Valley. During harvest time, tourists and locals alike can travel to vineyards and enjoy wine directly from the source.

Nature. One can enjoy some unique experiences with Australia’s native animals during Autumn. Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef is beautiful any time of the year, but Autumn presents an opportunity to see the turtle hatchlings emerge. On the opposite end of the country, the whale sharks of Western Australia can also be spotted at this time of year.
