今日はそんな’お盆’に関するお話し🎐✨

Shareeza🐣: What’s ‘Obon’? Recently I’ve heard many students say this but I don’t really know what it means…

Me🐬: It’s kind of like a holiday period in Japan. It’s always in August. It’s the time where families go to their loved one’s graves. They clean up the grave stone, give offerings, and tell the ‘person’ what’s been happening recently.

Shareeza🐣: Ahhh I see. That sounds like a nice tradition! (^^♪

Me🐬: Do you have a similar type of tradition in New Zealand?

Shareeza🐣: Hmm.. We don’t have a certain time during the year, like Japan, but the actions are more or less the same. Depending on the person or family, they might go on the day that person passed away, maybe their birthday, or even just a regular day.

Me🐬: Ohhh! That’s really interesting. ヽ(^。^)ノ
