お休みに入るということで、京都駅前校のアニメと日本が大好き!なMark先生よりお便りが届いています💌
Another summer in Japan, another break for school children and university students, as well! Something that’s always interested me about Japan is how different the school system here is, versus America. For example, in America, summer break is usually from June 1st through late August, that’s almost two months of free time! To add onto that, there’s also winter break, which is from mid-December to mid-January. Depending on the school district, that’s an extra three weeks of free time! Finally, there’s spring break, which is a one week break in mid-March, before final exams begin creeping up! That’s a total of about three months of not worrying about school!
Here in Japan, I’ve seen students in the city wearing uniforms in the middle of the day. “Is today a holiday and they can leave early? Was there a test today that they finished, and got to leave early as a result?” These are questions I think about when I see them, since it seems to be a pretty common occurrence. In my schools, we hardly ever got to leave early for any reason. What were your favorite points about school? What are some things you’re curious about American schools? Let’s talk about it next time we meet?
Mark先生は日本の学校と出身のアメリカの学校の夏休みの違いについて興味があるそうです!リーディングの練習にぜひ読んでみてください📓
