【アプリ】は利用しますか？
教科書を毎日持ち歩くとなるとなかなか大変なので、
携帯アプリで学習をする方は、多いんじゃないでしょうか？
海外の人からみて、この教育アプリはどう感じているのでしょうか。

Everyone seems to be using educational and language apps these days. The most popular apps boast millions of users, curriculum designed by experts and academics, and a growing list of languages and skills to take on. So, how to choose? Do they help? In the case of language apps, will they “teach” you how to have a conversation with a real person?
In my experience, the answer is yes…and no. But you have to do your part and use your own coping skills. Whichever app you choose, you will have to accept the limitations of the design and AI, and you’ll have to wade through useless language and repetitive tasks. In my experience , some AI can’t replicate the correct pronunciation of proper nouns, and it generates odd examples, such as the title of this blog — technically correct but empty of context or natural usage. You will also have to scale paywalls for personalized practice or to move up in weekly rankings. That’s fine if you’re not a free to play user or have a competitive streak, but the gamified atmosphere may be off putting to some users. Not everyone has a short attention span or is just searching for a quick reward and dopamine rush.
It might be best to experiment with several apps and take advantage of the free content already included in the basic app. Research who developed the app and consider how much actual listening and speaking you are doing, versus just touching the screen in various ways. Above all, don’t just rely on an app — make the effort to speak and interact with real people. No app can offer the potential of a new acquaintance, precise answers to questions, or natural flow of conversation.
