Hello everyone,
I hope you are staying warm and safe this week.
It is snowing a lot and the roads are dangerous.
In a previous message I told you that I bought some art during my winter vacation in Tokyo.
This time I will show the art and talk about it.
The two prints with flowers and birds are from Hiroshige.
My favorite is the one that shows Kamedo Temple with the bridge and pond.
In the foreground there is hanging wisteria which provides interesting depth.
The print showing a battle between samurai and demons is from Utagawa Kuniyoshi.
Kuniyoshi is my favorite Japanese artist from the 1800s.
In the top corner there are Buddhist gods helping the samurai defeat the demons.
