Hello, happy fall !
I’m Elena and I’d like to tell you about a fall festival in hometown.
In Albuquerque,New Mexico there’s a fall festival once a year called the Aki Matsuri. It’s a Japanese festival where all the Japanese-American community come together to showcase Japanese culture to New Mexicans.
At the festival we showcase many different things such as, Ryukyu dance, Japanese dance, Judo, and Taiko.
I’ve been going to this festival since I was a kid. When I got older I performed Okinawan dances with my brother and cousin.
Over the years, the festival has grown to an immense size. They’ve had to change the venue several times because of the growth. Nowadays, hundreds of people come to the festival to eat Japanese food, experience Ikebana, observe tea ceremonies. Also people like to watch performances of dances, martial arts, and Taiko.
