さて、本日は毎週泉大津校で水曜日にレッスンを担当して頂いております

Tommy講師ですが

6月の1週目より、久しぶりにイギリスに帰国されるとの事で、

２週間ほど泉大津校でのレッスンはございません😢

イギリスに帰国するのは超✨久しぶりとの事でとても楽しみにされています🎵

Hello Everyone!

As many of you know, I’m going to the UK for two weeks!

This is the first time I have been back to the UK since moving to Japan five years ago. This is mostly due to corona, however.

皆さん、こんにちは！ご存知の方も多いと思いますが、私は2週間イギリスに行きます！年前に日本に引っ越して以来、イギリスに戻るのは初めてです。原因はコロナのせいです。

Since I haven’t been back in so long there are many people that want to meet with me so my schedule is already very tight.

First I’ll be in Liverpool for four days.

During this time I want to meet with my parents, grandparents and my childhood friends. After that, I’m going to Yorkshire for four days for my uncle’s wedding.

久しぶりに帰国するので、僕に会いたがっている人がたくさんいて、スケジュールはすでにかなりタイトになっています。まずリバプールに4日間滞在します。この間に両親、祖父母、幼なじみに会いたいです。

その後、叔父の結婚式のためにヨークシャーに4日間行きます。

Here I will be able to meet with my extended family. After that, I will travel up to Scotland to see my sister who lives in a very remote village.

Where my sister lives there are only two trains a day! One to the city in the morning and then one back to the village at the end of the working day.

My girlfriend is very excited about going to Scotland as she has never been before and loves nature and the countryside.

ここで大家族に会います。その後、スコットランドに行き、妹に会いに行きます。

妹の住む村には、1日に2本の電車しかない！朝に都会へ行く電車と、終業時間に村へ戻る電車です。

私のガールフレンドはスコットランドに行くのをとても楽しみにしている。

Of course I am looking forward to seeing my friends and family but I know that almost everyone is going to ask me the same questions about living in Japan.

I think I’m going to get tired about talking about Japan but it can’t be help as I think there are many people in the UK that are interested in Japan and Japanese Culture. But, with Japan being so far from the UK, I think most people with not have the chance to travel to Japan in their lifetime.

友人や家族に会うのは楽しみですが、ほとんどの友達は日本に住んでいることについて同じことを聞いてくるのは目に見えている。

日本のことを話すのに疲れてしまいそうだけど（(笑)）、イギリスには日本や日本文化に興味を持っている人がたくさんいるから仕方ない。それに、日本はイギリスからとても遠いので、ほとんどの人は一度も日本を旅行する機会がないと思います。

In the five years I have lived in Japan I haven’t really missed British Food but with my trip being so close, I am suddenly craving it.

I am really looking forward to going to an authentic British pub for a roast dinner, my local “chippy” (fish and chip shop) for fish and chips and British bakery for a traditional British pie. One of my Japanese friends has asked me to send him a picture of my meal every day because he wants to see if the rumours that British food is bad are true.

日本に住んでいた5年間、イギリス料理を恋しく思ったことはなかったが、旅行が近くなって、急にイギリス料理が食べたくなった。

本場のブリティッシュパブでローストディナーを食べたり、地元の「チッピー」（フィッシュ＆チップス屋さん）でフィッシュ＆チップスを食べたり、ブリティッシュベーカリーでイギリスの伝統的なパイを食べたりするのをとても楽しみにしている。日本人の友人が、イギリス料理はまずいという噂が本当かどうか確かめたいので、毎日食事の写真を送ってくれと言ってました。

Honestly speaking, I don’t think British food is bad but I don’t think it is so delicious either. For me, British food is just cheap but mostly importantly hearty.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all when I get back.

正直言って、イギリス料理がまずいとは思わないが、おいしいとも思わない。
私にとっては、イギリス料理はただ安くて、でもボリュームがあることが重要なんです。

戻ってから皆さんにお会いできるのを楽しみにしています。
