Moving to Japan
Hello Everyone! This is Patrick from Ibaraki. I wanted to share a bit about my experience moving to Japan. I was surprised when I came to Japan. Everything is so clean! I am from America and I lived in New York City for six years. New York is very dirty. You can see trash everywhere! There is a joke that people from New York say: “New York smells good in winter because all of the trash is frozen.”. My friends ask to see pictures of Japan. When I show them pictures, everyone says, “Wow! It’s so clean!”. I am very happy to live in Japan. There are a lot of differences between Japan and America.
Christmas in Japan
In Japan, it’s popular to eat KFC on Christmas Day. It’s so popular that you even have to order your food weeks in advance. For Americans, this is very surprising. Americans who celebrate Christmas usually eat home cooked food on Christmas day. Every year my family eats turkey and prime rib that my aunt makes. For Americans who don’t celebrate Christmas, it’s popular to get Chinese take-out. There are a lot of food traditions around the world and I can’t wait to see you to talk about them.
