一気に冬らしくなり日中も冷え込みますが
体調に気を付けてお過ごしください⛄
さて！今回はアイルランド出身のRyanにクリスマスの過ごし方について
聞いてみました🎅💚
Christmas in Ireland is similar to the UK and USA. However unlike in the USA, we don`t have Thanksgiving as a holiday for us to see our families, so instead Christmas is the most important day of the year for us to see family members we don`t often see during the rest of the year. On Christmas morning, we sometimes to go to church to remember the reason for Christmas, and then after we return home and exchange presents with our close friends and family. At about 3pm we eat a meal often consisting of vegetables, bird meat; such as Turkey or Goose, and ham. Depending on the family, we sometimes accompany this meal with a glass of mulled wine; a hot red wine mixed with spices such as cinnamon, it`s perfect during a cold winter. It`s a lot of work to prepare and clean but is always worth it, especially since I only see many of my Aunts, Uncle, and cousins exclusively on that day. Finally, some people have traditions with their friends called `Secret Santa` in which we give gifts to a specific person without them knowing. I do this every year with my friends from the UK, last year I got a cool Dragon Ball themed mug from my friend for all the tea and coffee I drink.
