Hello my name is Qail. I recently moved to Japan from Toronto, Canada. Toronto is a very diverse city with many immigrants from all over the world. The diverse landscape is one of my favorite aspects of living in Toronto. Having an abundance of different cultures in relatively small area has led to a welcoming and accepting community. It is common to have friends and interact with a diverse group of people, where traditions and stories are constantly exchanged. Hearing about other people`s way of life can be an eye opening experience.
Being from such a multicultural city has it`s benefits when it comes to being able to participate in new experiences. Toronto has restaurants serving cuisines from all over the world and it`s always a privilege to spend time with friends and family while trying new dishes. Diversity has also flooded into the sports scene in Toronto where many non traditional Canadian sports have begun to pick up in popularity.
The physical landscape of Canada is also a big contribution to it`s appeal. On the west you can find The Rocky Mountains, which are a beautiful spot for those who enjoy hiking, skiing, or the outdoors in general. On the east you can find beautiful coasts with some of the most breath taking beaches in the world. In my hometown Toronto, you can find a bustling city with lots of space carved out for vast parks that often become the hubs of communities. One of my favorite activities is packing a nice picnic and frequenting one of the many parks to spend time with friends, usually accompanied by a friendly game of volleyball or spikeball.
Overall, Toronto is a beautiful city and I would recommend it as an amazing travel destination to anyone. Although, the winters should be reserved for the brave, the rest of the year is very welcoming and it`s safe to assume that at the least you will meet many kind people and be able to not only experience Canadian culture, but traditions from all over the globe. That being said, I am really enjoying my time in Japan and I’m still discovering all this country has to offer. I am looking forward to the future and any new experiences that come my way.
