本日はスコットランド出身の講師Jamesから紹介してもらった
スコットランドのイベントについてお送りいたします！
In Scotland we have many events and things to do.
In Edinghburgh the capital city of Scotland we have the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which takes place in August for over 3 weeks.
It is a festival that includes theatre, comedy, dance, music, children`s shows, musicals, exhibitons and more.
Our most celebrated time of year is called Hogmanay, which is also known as new years eve around the world.
The best place to celebrate the countdown to the new year is
Edinburgh with it`s fireworks display where everyone sings the
traditional Scottish song Auld Lang Syne.
Another important event in the Scotish calander is Burns night which is a celebration of our most famous poet Robert Burns.
We celebrate his birthday on the 25th of January with traditional
dancing, poetry readings speeches and a haggis dinner and the optional
whiskey.
