最近は街中でも外国人観光客を見かけることが多くなりましたね！
そこでJacob先生より故郷のUKのオススメスポットを6つ紹介してもらいました🥳
今回は前編です！3つご紹介いたします。
I`ve compiled a list of some of the best places to visit in the UK outside of London, as I think a alot of tourists miss some incredible places when they come here. I`ll Try and keep it short but it might be difficult.
1. Oxford, England: One of the more well-peserved and distinguished cities in the UK, Oxford is famous for being home to Oxford University, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. Teaching existed here in some form since 1096. A trip to Oxford, walking through the old cobbled streets among the beautiful university architecture, which the city has been built around, will transport you back to the times of traditional England, walking in the footsteps of some of the worlds most famous writers and academics. J.R.R Tolkien wrote parts of The Lord of the Rings in the local university pub and Heita Kawakatsu, the current governor of Shizuoka Prefecture even went to Oxford.
2. Bath, England: Located in the county (prefecture) of Somerset, this beauiful, small city was made famous due to it`s ancient Roman baths and ruins. When the Roman Empire ruled England, they built a bath house and temple in this city, which when rediscovered, were preserved and have turned the city into a popular spot for anyone interested in history and architecture. Cafes line the riverside and on a sunny day (rare in the UK I`ll admit) there`s nowhere better to relax. The 7th century abbey next to the bath house, built by the Anglo-saxons, is another popular tourist destination for this city, gorgeous architecture which blends into the background of the bath house seemlessly, makes this city a worthwhile trip.
3. Dorset and Cornwall, England: Some of the best coastlines in all of the UK make these counties a must visit on your trip. The history of Celts, Romans, and Vikings all played some part in Dorset and Cornwall`s history, with Dorset being the site of the first Viking raid on the British Isles. Corfe Castle is a must-see, offering beautiful panoramic views of the countryside and ocean. The Minack Theatre, an incredibly traditional open air theatre in Cornwall, offers one of the most unique spots to see theatre performances in Europe in my opinion, set against the dramatic backdrop of steep cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean, at an affordable price, too.
