Everyone knows how beautiful Japan is.
Kyoto, Hokkaido, Okinawa, Tokyo, Nara and the list goes on. You never have to travel far to enjoy and take in the beauty that Japan has to offer.
In fact, sometimes the transit itself can provide the most spectacular sights, as I discovered on my very first trip on the Osaka Monorail.
I was heading to Toyonaka for the first time to work in my new branch. As I got to the Senri-Chuo platform, I couldn`t help but stare at the marvelous engineering enabling a multi-ton train to majestically snake through the air – seemingly effortless in its movement.
A beautiful clear day, calm and quite descending over the station accompanied by a few snowflakes, meant that I could gaze over Osaka in almost its entirety.
I looked around, amazed. While my fellow passengers were staring at their phones on a normal commute, I was staring out the window like a little child seeing the ocean for the first time. For the first time I saw Osaka`s curves, its valleys and hills. Incredible.
What makes it more special is the fact that it was so surprising.
I didn`t expect it.
That`s where I learned that, in Japan, nothing, not the buildings, not the construction, not the streets, not even the mundane can escape the beauty this country has. And I`m in love with that.
