Jessica 先生からニュージーランド🐑のスラングについて教えてもらいました！！

Hello!
My name is Jessica and I come from New Zealand. Today I will be introducing some typical slang that we kiwi’s use on a daily basis.
①One of the most popular slang words we use in New Zealand is “sweet as“, this is an easy going way of saying ‘awesome’ , ‘no problem’ or sometimes even ‘thank you’.

‘awesome’ ／’no problem’ と同じ意味でカジュアルな会話で使えます。場面によっては ‘thank you’ の意味で使われることもあります。
②Another classic kiwi slang that also shows gratitude or appreciation is “Chur“.

感謝を表す言葉として使われます。
③A popular yet confusing slang we use is “yeah…nah“, this usually means ‘no’ in a non-committal way. I used to get very confused by this myself but now I use it often too.

‘No’ という意味ですが、返事を曖昧にしたいときに使われます。
Jessica 先生自身、昔はこの言葉に「？？？」となっていたそうなのですが、今ではよく使うそうです。
④One of my favourite New Zealand slang words is “dairy” which is our way of calling a corner store/convenience store. The reason for this is because these small corner shops typically sell mainly milk, other dairy products and eggs.

こちらは、Jessica 先生の好きなスラングのひとつで、小さい食料品店／コンビニを 指す言葉です。このように呼ばれる理由としては、このタイプのお店では、主に牛乳やその他の乳製品、卵が売られているからです。
⑤A more culturally involved kiwi expression is the word “Kia ora” pronounced as ‘ki-ora’. This is actually a Maori (the indigenous people of New Zealand) greeting that means ‘hello’. New Zealand tries it’s best to keep the Maori culture alive and have taken to using the Maori language in daily life in this way. So if you ever meet a kiwi/New Zealander you can give these phrases a try! We will be delighted to hear them from you!
Kia ora
ki-ora と発音されるこの言葉はマオリ（ニュージーランドの先住民）の挨拶で、Hello と同じ意味で使われます。ニュージーランドでは、マオリ文化を存続させた方がいいと なり、日常にマオリの言葉を取り入れたそうです。
Jessica より「ニュージーランド人に会った時は、是非これらのフレーズを使ってみてください！そのフレーズを聞いたら、ニュージーランド人達は大変喜びます！」とのこと です！
