In Japan, the main greetings this time of year revolve around the
New Year holiday. It’s a bit different in the U.S. We usually say things
like ”Merry Christmas”, ”Happy Hanukkah”, ”Season`s Greetings”,
”Happy Holidays”, and ”Happy New Year”. For New Year’s, we only say
”Happy New Year”on New Year’s day itself. I usually try to cover all
of the bases, and simply wish everyone a happy holiday.

Ça fait longtemps.
Comment allez-vous en cette fin d’année 2022 ?
Aujourd’hui, je vais vous présenter quelques expressions de fin d’année que nous utilisons en France.
Tout d’abord, nous pouvons utiliser l’expression :
– “Bonnes fêtes de fin d’année” qui est très polyvalente et utilisable jusqu’au 1er janvier.
Ensuite, nous pouvons dire “Joyeux Noël” (Merry Christmas en anglais)
et “Bon réveillon” (pour le 24 et le 31). “Réveillon” signifie la nuit où nous mangeons avec la famille / les amis avant le jour suivant (le 25 décembre et le 1er janvier)
Enfin, n’oubliez pas de dire “Bonne année” et “Meilleurs voeux” à partir du 1er janvier.

How are you doing in this year’s end?
Today, I am going to introduce some expressions that we use in France.
To begin with, we can use the expression :
“Bonnes fêtes de fin d’année” (Happy year’s end celebrations)
which is very polyvalent and convenient to use until January 1st.
Then, we can also say “Joyeux Noël” (Merry Christmas) and “Bon réveillon” (Happy Eve) (for the 24th and the 31st). “Réveillon” means the night when we eat with our families / friends before the next day. (December 25th and January 1st).
Finally, don’t forget to say “Bonne année” and “Meilleurs voeux” starting January 1st.
