Hello☃️NOVA若松イオン校です❄️
今回は、Jacques(ジャック)よりコーヒーに関するエッセイを作ってもらいました✨
また、後半部分にとある3つの単語をピックアップしております🤔
皆様、どのような意味か分かりますか❓❓
Hey everyone,
Did you know that Finland has the highest coffee consumption per capita at around 27 and a half pounds of coffee a year? That’s more than double that of the average American at 11 pounds a year. Did you also know that Finland consistently rates as one of the happiest countries in the world? My conclusion: the more coffee you drink, the happier you are. If I’m being honest, though, while that might be true for me, it’s not necessarily true for everyone. Correlation does not mean causation.
What does correlation and causation mean, though? Both correlation and causation describe a relationship between two things, for example coffee consumption and happiness. Causation just takes it a step further by showing that one of those things causes the other. So in other words, if two things happen at the same time, they might be correlated, but it doesn’t mean that one caused the other.
Can you think of an example of correlation and causation? Remember to please feel free to ask your instructor about any language questions you might have. We like hearing from you.
Per capita: for each person; in relation to people taken individually
Correlation: a mutual relationship or connection between two or more things
Causation: the relationship between cause and effect; causality.
