🌳夏の気候について🌳

夏がやってきて蒸し暑い日々が多い中、
Jon-micheal先生の母国もかなり蒸し暑いだとか、、、
The chief similarity is this– it gets HOT in the summer! Just like in Japan, Mississippi summers are characterized by the strong heat and the oppressive humidity. The humidity is so strong that sometimes it feels like you’re walking through a bowl of soup! At night, around the street lamps and electric lights, you can actually see the moisture in the air being reflected by the light. Its a constant haze you have to walk in and it gets exhausting! In Japan I’ve noticed very similar weather. The summer days get hot and there’s a constant humidity. Luckily for me, it is not quite as bad as back home. The heat here is strong, but it isn’t unbearable.
The biggest difference I’ve noticed has to do with the prevalence of and interactions with wildlife in the summer. Of course, being in an urban area, you are less likely to experience wildlife than in the countryside, but even in the more urban areas of Mississippi, in the summer you are constantly experiencing all sorts of interactions with different animals. Sometimes its something banal like a turtle trying to cross the road, or some vultures congregating by the side of a ditch. Other times its more exciting– back in my hometown, there was a 12ft Alligator named Big Bob, and in the summer, every morning he would sit on the highway to warm up for the morning. It would stop traffic and animal control had to move him every single day! And yet, without fail, you could be assured the next morning, at the exact same time, Bob would be back, traffic would be stalled, and animal control would need to come back again– as strange as it sounds, this kind of thing was seen as quite normal back home. We`re used to those kinds of up close interactions with wildlife. Needless to say, in Tokyo I haven’t experienced anything like Big Bob`s morning tanning routine!
