海外ドラマでよく見る『Prom Night』についてです✨
In the US, graduating high school can be a very involved process. It all starts with the prom. “Prom” is short for “promenade,” which is a type of party. There were many different dance parties at my high school, but prom is the biggest. The dance happens in May of the graduation year. The school books a hotel for the party, and the hotel ballroom is used. Everyone wears very fancy clothes. The girls wear very long dresses with many colors. The guys wear tuxedoes that match the color of their dates’ dress.
To travel to the hotel, most people go in limousines, a type of long car. It’s a little expensive, but we make groups so we can share the cost. The hotel was about 30 minutes away from my hometown. I went with about 6 other people.
At the party, everyone dances to many songs. If people don’t want to dance, they can sit at tables around the dance floor. It is similar to a wedding party. The hotel also provides dinner for everyone. The party goes from 8pm until around midnight.
After the dance, we all went to a local athletic center for the after party. There are many games and activities. They included things like sports, a lottery, and even a mechanical bull! This party went until about 4 or 5 am. Then, everyone’s parents came to pick them up.
Prom night is a really fun night for everyone!
