本日は水曜限定講師Kenneth先生！！
以前もご紹介いたしましたがKenneth先生はゲームがとても好きなんです🎮
お家時間、ゲームをされる方も多いのではないでしょうか？
今回はどの世代も大好き！ポケモンについて語ってもらいます(^^)
Some trends come and go, but Pokemon is forever.
By now, almost everyone is at least familiar with the worldwide phenomenon.
Like many people my age, I remember when the first games came out on the venerable Gameboy, or if you were lucky, the Gameboy Color.
But among my peers, I was a little unique – I was probably among the first American kids to ever see Pokemon.
This was because my Japanese grandmother had friends in Japan who sent her some papercraft goods and comic books because they saw “it was popular with the kids”. Being completely unable to read Japanese, I looked at the pictures in the books and made the papercraft models happily for probably a whole month before promptly forgetting all about them. Imagine my surprise when some months later, the same strange yellow rat and green frog with a flower on its back reappeared as the hot new game every kid was playing! I had been ahead of the curve, but I hadn’t even known it at the time. Of course, I ended up getting the actual games a bit later than the other kids, so I ended up behind if anything. Too bad my 4th grade mind couldn’t analyze popular trends in foreign markets and predict this cultural boom before it hit the American shores!
